If two-column proofs are a part of your October curriculum, then use this silly proof as an introduction. I made this up a long time ago after watching “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown.” It’s got all the elements you need. I’ve used this as a bulletin board in past years. Have fun with it. Students will see that two column proofs have a statement side and a reason side. It also shows that the given comes first and what you’re trying to prove will be the last statement.
